I’m a writer in the D.C. area, originally from Alexandria, Va. (yes, Virginia from Virginia).
I studied English and Spanish at William & Mary, and I got a master’s in Journalism at the University of Missouri. In between those two degrees, I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in a small town in Ukraine, teaching English to 5th through 11th graders. (I also wrote a blog while there.) I speak pretty good Spanish and decidedly mediocre Ukrainian.
One time, I won an NPR quiz show.
In my free time, I’m an Alto 1 in the Capitol Hill Chorale.
